Why Crestech's SAN Certification?Prior to the SNCP, there has been no single standard by which to judge a professional's knowledge of storage networking technologies. Through its certification program, the SNIA aims to establish open standards for storage networking certification that IT organizations can trust.Benefit to organizations: SNIA SNCP Certification will provide employers with a benchmark against which to measure employees' skills. SNCP will provide a level of assurance that employees have the requisite skills and abilities to support the deployment of storage networks.Benefit to professionals: Certification through the SNIA SNCP is proof of an individual's level of storage networking knowledge and expertise. Who Should Take the ExamsThe FC-SAN Certification program is designed to test expertise at various levels and targets IT professionals in a variety of job functions. Click here for descriptions on the types of candidates who are qualified for Levels 1 and 2 certification.Test MethodsFibre Channel SAN Levels 1 and 2 Crestech offers the SAN certifications onsite at Crestech. Certification Exams will be delivered by Prometric, a recognized technology testing company, with locations worldwide. Exams for Levels 3 and 4 are still being defined, but are expected to include hands-on components in some form. How the Exams Were Developed. Infinity I/O developed the SNCP Levels 1 and 2 examinations. The examination questions were then reviewed by subject matter experts with varied technical backgrounds from several SNIA member companies. The review included both an assessment of each exam question and the overall exam methodology. FUTURE SAN Programs: Work In ProgressInfinity I/O and SNIA have finalized exam procedures for Levels 1 and 2 of the FC-SAN Certification, with Levels 3 and 4 following in 2002.
